A woman called Oryu, from Musashi, with no fixed address, is sent to a prison for women in Kodenmacho, Edo. Though this princess Oryu is said to be nineteen, she is incredibly skillful and strong for her age. She fights against social abuses in Edo to prove six prisoners’ innocence. It is a novel detective story, far from a typical period drama.
