Cutting-edge “Corpse Party” horror game franchise to be adapted as a live action feature film slated for release on August 1th, 2015!
With console game and comic book sales reaching more than 100,000 and 1 billion respectively, and with forays into novelizations, original animes, and a drama CD (voice dramatization), horror adventure game “Corpse Party” is now reimagined as a live-action film!
Rina Ikoma, member of Nogizaka46 will be taking the lead role. Also starring in the film are Ryosuke Ikeoka ("1/11 Jyuu Ichi Bun No Ichi," "Musical THE PRINCE OF TENNIS 2nd Season"), and Nozomi Maeda ("Real Onigokko 4," "GARO: The One Who Shines in the Darkness"). The film, directed by veteran horror director Masafumi Yamada ("Hitori Kakurenbo - Theater Version", "Toire no Hanako-san New Theater Version") and is written by Yoshimasa Akamatsu. In addition, the voice behind both the Corpse Party game and anime series Asami Imai will provide the film's theme song.
[SYNOPSIS]
One rainy night after a school festival, a group of students from Kisaragi High School decide to perform the "Sachiko Ever After" charm, which will unite them forever as friends. Once the ritual is done, a sudden earthquake transports them to Heavenly Host, an elementary school that was torn down following the murders and disappearances of several of its staff and students. Unbeknownst to Naomi(Rina Ikoma) and her classmates, however, is the horrific past behind it which culminated in its demolition. As they look for each other and try to escape from Heavenly Host, they soon find out their lives are at the mercy of those affected by that same bloodied past.
